The Hamazkayin "Barouyr Sevag” Cultural Association
The Hamazkayin "Barouyr Sevag" chapter of Anjar was founded in 1971 by a group of devoted Anjarians.
Since then, it has contributed greatly to the flourishment of the cultural life in Anjar.
Until December 2001, the association conducted its activities in the Hamazkayin club near the round point of Anjar. Recently, the club was reconstructed, reorganized and also renamed as "Sarkis Zeitlian" center, hosting different committees and associations under one roof. Through the years, the consecutive executive committees of the "Barouyr Sevag" chapter have organized many cultural activities in Anjar. The association has had its dance groups, "Gakavig" children's choir, literary group, art club, music group, poem recitation groups, the "Gomidas" choir, the "Roupen Nakian” Art Academy and the "Lousartzag 40" theatrical group, , whose successful performances have impressed the Armenians in Lebanon and Diaspora.
