Remembering Mousaler
Mousadaghians have remained faithful to the memory of their homeland Mousa Ler and have made it a part of their present through celebrating the commemoration of the Mousadaghian heroic battle every year in September.
The commemoration of the Mousadaghian heroic battle used to be celebrated in the woody area of the village, where the traditional "Herisa” was prepared and later distributed to the people. Lately, the celebrations take place in the "St. Boghos” Chuch of Anjar.
In 1995, the foundations of the Mousadaghian monument were set as an act of response to the demolition of the historic monument of Moussadagh.
The opening ceremony of the Monument took place in the presence of governmental, educational, military and religious representatives and under the auspices of the religious denominations of the village. The monument was completed when the bust of Movses Der Malousdian stood next to it in 1998, where the remains of the late and his wife were located.
It is worth mentioning that the celebration of the commemoration of the Mousadaghian heroic battle has become a national event where all Armenians in Lebanon gather to revive the Armenian spirit and traditions.
The Mousadaghian Heroic battle is also commemorated by devoted Mousadaghians around the globe who remain faithful to the tribute of Mousa Dagh.
The celebrations of the 95th anniversary of the Mousadaghian heroic battle and the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Anjar were held in the presence of the president of Artsakh, Pako Sahagian, Catolicos Aram A, ARF bureau representative, Hrant Markarian, as well as national, religious and military representatives.
Anjarians and Armenians from all over the globe attended the celebrations, which created an unprecedented atmosphere in the village.
