The Homentmen (HMEM) Anjar club was founded in 1940, by the efforts of Zarmayr Minassian, Aram Hovsepian, and Tatyos Bakkalian. It has its scouts' division, which includes three groups divided according to age.

The scouts’ groups have various activities. They have their weekly meetings, where the members follow different training programs and acquire useful and practical knowledge about different topics. All these are put to practice during the yearly camping.

Also, every year on the Independence Day of Armenia, the 28th of May, the scouts participate in the HMEM march festival which is held in Beirut, with the participation of all the HMEM chapters of Lebanon.

The "Akhtamar" chapter of Anjar was founded in 1942, by the unequal efforts of 7 Anjarian women and the purposeful contribution of Movses Der Kalousdian (a Syrian parliament member at the time), Yetvart Boyadjian, and Tovmas Habeshian.
The aim of the chapter was to help the needy and the sick.
The first major achievement of the chapter was the establishment of a delivery home in 1945, which was of urgent priority at that time. Since then, the association has accomplished many achievements and projects in Anjar specially in the socio-medical field.

In 1998, Mr. and Mrs. Souren and Alice Filhannessian, (currently living in the States) donated their ancestral home in Anjar to the association. The house was reconstructed and turned into a medical center where the association conducts its different activities.
In 1999, the official opening ceremony of the center took place, and was named after the donors.
Currently, the medical center has 8 volunteer doctors who offer medical assistance to the villagers. The center also offers laboratory services with the collaboration of hospitals and laboratories in the Bekaa region. The current executive committee plans to expand the services of the center by adding dental services, an X-Ray section and echography service.

The different committees of the association also organize lectures about medical and psychological topics, special courses for women as well as annual events and celebrations. In the last few years, the association has also conducted campaigns against diseases, like diabetes, breast cancer…etc.
The organization also marks international days such as, International Women's Day, Children's Day etc...

In 1973, the "Shavarsh Missakian" chapter of the ARF Lebanese Youth Association was founded in Anjar. The youth association was divided into two age groups; the juniors, ages between 12 and 16, known as the "Harach" youth association, and the seniors, ages between 16 and 21, the youth chapter itself.

During the first years of its establishment, the "Shavarsh Missakian" chapter of Anjar and all the Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) chapters around the world, had many fields of responsibilities. The main aim of its establishment was to educate the future generations about the Armenian Cause and history, and prepare them for the years ahead. They have organized anti-Turkey campaigns and encouraged the boycotting of Turkish economy and culture. They have also organized annual commemoration events on special national occasions, such as the Armenian Genocide on the 24th of April and the Independence Day of Armenia on May 28th.
The Lebanese Youth Association, through all its chapters, played a vital role in rendering humanitarian and security services to the Armenian people during the fifteen dangerous and hard years of the Lebanese Civil War.

Immediately after the establishment of the "Harach" Elementary School, the "Harach" chapter of the ARF Lebanese Youth Association was founded in Anjar. The main aim was to give national and patriotic education to the Anjarian youth.

The association organized celebration events, marches, campings, and educational programs which helped create the necessary enthusiasm among the youth, specially about issues concerning our homeland and nation.

Today, the chapter is divided into two age groups, the juniors "gerdtser" and the seniors "yerets". Each has its weekly meetings during which they listen to stories about the Armenian and ARF legacies, learn national and revolutionary songs, and attend lectures about different topics concerning the youth, they also organize campings, field trips, and sports events.
